And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD  God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.   Exodus 10:3 


And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised  hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.   Leviticus 26:41, 42 


And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy  God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine  heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with  manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by  bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.   Deuteronomy 8:2, 3 


Who fed thee in the wilderness with  manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
And thou say in thine  heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.   Deuteronomy 8:16, 17 


And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for  money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast humbled her.   Deuteronomy 21:14
