Pray to God

You need to pray to God.

  • God designed and created the heavens and the earth. - 271
  • God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. - 272
  • Prayer opens communication between you and the Father. It focuses your dependence on him and creates an open line for Him to respond while you're listening. There is nothing too "unusual" to pray about. Often times I simply tell God all that is happening in my life, and tell Him what I think about it. Prayer is about open communication -- both speaking and listening.

  Comments and Quotes

There is a personal God who intervenes in history. - Peter Gumpel - 199

1. There was an orthodox Jewish Rabbi who would only say his prayers in the Hebrew language. He felt that Hebrew was God's original language.

2. There was a devout Roman Catholic grandmother who would kneel down and say her prayers in the Latin language. She felt that Latin was a universal language that God would understand.

3. There was a Pentecostal-Charismatic Christian who would only "Pray in Tongues" while standing up. He felt that he was using the "language of angels" and that God would understand.

4. There was a Baptist pastor who would preach and pray with a British accent using King James style old British English. He would only read from the 1611 KJV Bible, and felt that was the best way.

When I spoke to these people on the street, they all spoke perfect American English and I understood what they were saying.

I may not always understand or agree with other people's traditions, rituals, style of worship, and methods of prayer. Christianity is a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Prayer is simply talking to God and listening to him for the answers. You need to ask God to give you wisdom, meet your needs, and help you to be all that he created you to be. - Ron Rooks - 264
